Former Andhra Pradesh Minister arrested in alleged kidnapping of three men

Three brothers were kidnapped by a group of men on Tuesday night, police rescued them within few hours


Former Andhra Pradesh tourism minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader, Bhuma Akhila Priya was arrested by Hyderabad Police on Wednesday for alleged abduction of three brothers who are said to be distant relatives of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. The abduction happened over 50 acres of disputed land at Hafeezpet worth Rs 200 crore. The three brothers who were kidnapped late Tuesday night are K Praveen Rao, K Sunil Rao and K Naveen Rao.

Other than Priya, her husband Bhargav Ram and another leader of TDP, A V Subba Reddy have been accused of allegedly planning and executing the kidnapping. According to the police, around 10-15 men barged into the house posing as Income Tax officials at around 7 pm on Tuesday and separated the brothers from the rest of the family. After which they kidnapped the brothers and took them away along with their laptops and mobile phones.

The brothers were rescued by the police at around 3 am after they received a phone call from their family members. However, the kidnappers forcefully got some documents signed by the brothers before releasing them. The police are looking for other accused involved in the kidnapping of the three brothers.
