Former CBI Director Ashwini Kumar Died At Age 69 By Suicide

The Former CBI director And DGP Ashwini Kumar died by suicide on Wednesday 9th October in his Shimla Home.


The Former CBI Director and DGP of Himachal Pradesh Ashwini Kumar on Wednesday 9th October died because of suicide. This incident took place in his Shimla Home on Wednesday evening.
The governor of Nagaland found hanging with a rope at Brockhorst in Shimla.The 69 years old Ashwini was1973-batch IPS officer and was appointed CBI Director in 2008.

According to Shimla Police Mohit Chawla, who was quoted by news agency ANI, The 69-years old Former CBI died by suicide. Sources said he had been depressed for some time.The Police officials investigating the incident said a suicide note has found, which seems to indicate that health issues forced the former top cop to take the hard decision.The police of Himachal Pradesh has also found a "death note" while investigating the crime scene. According to the official suicide note was written in English and the deceased said, "had become overwhelmed by this life and had set out on his next journey."

The official said that the authenticity of the note is verified.One of the close colleagues of the deceased AP Singh who took the CBI Director post after Ashwini's retirement, he told the media that he was a "fit and healthy" officer.Singh expressed the feelings by saying that he was shocked after hearing the saddening news. Kumar never lost his temper and never raised his voice. He was known for his pleasant and soft-spoken person.

Praveen Sinha, currently Additional Director in the CBI, said, "He was a thorough gentleman, very cultured. It is a shock."
