Formula 1 race will have now women drivers...

Men monopoly breaks...

Silverstone, England: Formula 1 season started this weekend in Bahrain in front of a sell-out crowd, fans can expect to see blistering speeds, squealing Tyres, sliding fast corners and daring overtaking.

What they never see is a female driver. For more than 40 years there was no woman driver in Formula 1 race. But it will be about to change.

With almost 40 percent of F1 fans now female, the motorsport industry is making efforts to make sure that at least one of the 20 drivers on the grid is female.

Formula 1 has put its clout behind the F1 Academy. The organization has announced on Wednesday that the initiative taken for women drivers will be headed by Susi Wolff, wife of Toto Wolff, the CEO of the Mercede-AMG Petronas F1 team and former driver.

The budget for 15 women who will be the driver for five team will subsidise by the F1 Academy.

In June a non-profit launched is another initiative with the sole purpose of putting a woman on the podium.

"Almost seventy-five women have been given space along with all its physical challenges, G-forces, and its technical challenges of knowing the technology behind it, as it is a highly competitive environment program to get in to," Beavan, a longtime Formula 1 executive, said.
