Four Bihar Laborers die of Suffocation

Four migrant laborers from Bihar tragically lost their lives to suffocation while engaged in work within a septic tank at a village in Surat. The incident took place at a dyeing factory along the Palsana-Katodara road on Tuesday evening, as reported by the police on Wednesday.

 

Initial findings indicate that two workers became unconscious during the septic tank cleaning, leading two other workers to intervene in a rescue effort, according to a police official familiar with the situation.

 

The ongoing process of identifying the deceased individuals, who are from Bihar, is being conducted, stated the official.

 

H L Rathore, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Bardoli Division, mentioned that the factory's senior officials are currently under questioning in relation to the incident.

 

"Four workers went to clean the septic tank and unfortunately succumbed to suffocation. The investigation is ongoing, and we are currently questioning the factory's senior officials. All four deceased individuals are residents of Bihar," stated DSP Rathore to ANI.

 

Police responded to a call at 6:30 am on Wednesday, finding the workers unconscious at the scene. Despite prompt extraction, they were rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.

 

"We received a call at 6:30 am on Wednesday, following which a team reached the spot and discovered that four workers had allegedly died due to suffocation," reported ANI, quoting an official.
