Four killed and one injured in a road accident on Pune-Bangalore highway

Mishap happened on Pune-Bangalore highway


Four people from the Sindhudurg district were killed and another was seriously injured when a car they were traveling in crashed into the Pune-Bangalore highway and crashed into a car near Karad on Sunday afternoon. Officials at the Talbid police station said the incident happened around 1:30pm when five people from Kudal in Sindhudurg were on their way to Ahmednagar to attend the event. The incident took place in Vahagaon village near Karad in the province of Tatara, about 100 kilometers from Pune.

Assistant inspector Jayashree Patil said: “The vehicle was heading to Pune. Near the town of Vahagaon, a speeding car lost control of its vehicle due to a stumbling block. He turned in the opposite direction and crashed into another car. No one was injured in the crash, but Swift Dzire was seriously injured. Three people were killed on the spot. Two of the injured were taken to hospital. One of them was injured in his later injuries. ”

Police identified the deceased as Nilesh Mondkar, Manoj Parab, Ankush Shinde and Bharat Bodekar. The dead and injured, identified as Rohan Warak, were all in their 30s. Officials say members of the victims' families have been contacted.

In the same district on January 31, three Pune wrestlers were killed and eight others injured in an accident involving two cars on the highway.
