Four Men Gangraped Mentally Disabled Woman In Tamil Nadu

Police have arrested 3 accused in the case!

Tamil Nadu Police arrested three men, and are in Search of the fourth absconding accused, for the gang rape of a 31-year-old mentally disabled woman. This crime took place on Wednesday night, May 18, in a village in Chengelpet district.

According to the police statement, the victim had been intellectually disabled since her birth. Her parents were farm workers, who used to leave her alone at home and go out for work. The four men, who are from the same village as the victim, were aware of this, reported The Times of India.

Police said that they were drunk when they barged into her house and gagged her to prevent her from raising an alarm.

They carried her out and took her to the house of one of the accused. “They took her to the terrace of the accused’s house and gangraped her,” a senior police officer said.

However, a local woman, who heard the cries of the victim, came in search of her and raised an alarm when she caught the four accused in the act of sexually abusing her. Within seconds of her alerting others in the locality, the four men had fled from the house.

The victim’s neighbours, who rushed to help her, noticed she was writhing in pain. They took her to the Chengelpet government hospital for treatment.
