UP polling begins!


Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also came up with his statement calling, "free India from Fear" this statement came ahead of the polling day. 


The Uttar Pradesh state begins its voting today (Thursday). The first phase of elections starts, the voting started today at 7 am. Many other leaders and party members are coming up with their Statements ahead of the assembly elections. 


According to the tweet, the Senior Congress leader wrote, In what appeared to be a veiled appeal to vote against the ruling party, “Free the country from all fears; Come out, vote! Said the leader. 


The first phase of polling is being held on Uttar Pradesh's districts namely Shamli, Hapur, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, and Agra.

 

The voting, which will conclude at 6:00 pm today, is taking place at 25,849 polling stations and 10,766 polling centers. As many as 623 candidates are in the fray on 58 Assembly seats where polls are being held today.


As per the norms, the campaigning for the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh polls ended on Tuesday (February 8) at 6 pm, marking the start of a 48-hour-long silence period.

 

Many leaders Including, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress Senior Leader Rahul Gandhi, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, and many others come up with their statements ahead of the first day of the assembly elections.


The 403-member Uttar Pradesh Assembly is scheduled to go to the polls in seven phases on February 10, 14, 20, 23, 27, March 3, and 7. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
