G-20 Summit Begins Today: PM Modi To attend Virtually

PM Modi will be attending the G-20 Summit beginning today virtually.


The 15th  G-20 Summit will be held on November 21 and 22. The event  will be attended by our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi via virtual assistance. The statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) states that PM Modi will be present at the summit on the Invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia under the theme “Realising the Opportunities of 21st Century for All”.

The COVID-19 recovery plan will be the major focus of this summit. MEA released a press release where it said, “The focus on the upcoming G-20 Summit will focus on inclusive, resilient and sustainable recovery from the COVID-19. During the G-20 Summit, the leaders will discuss pandemic preparedness and the ways and means to restore jobs. The leaders will also share their visions on building an inclusive, sustainable and resilient future”.

India will enter along with Saudi Arabia to the G-20 Troika, when Italy takes on December 1 the presidency of the G-20 Summit.

This year it is the second meeting of the G-20 leaders. The first meeting was held in a telephonic conversation between PM Modi and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia in March 2020. The leaders at the summit coordinated to come up with a global coordinated response to the COVID-19 pandemic
