Gang used fake government website and 27,000 cheated in job racket, busted


Five arrested for scam of offering 13,000 people fake jobs of over Rs 1 crore.

On Thursday, The Cyber Crime Cell of Delhi Police (CyPAD) claims to have busted a gang of five people who allegedly duped over 27,000 people after promising them government jobs through a fake government portal in last two months. Total three laptops and seven phones were recovered from the accused and the police have also frozen a bank account with Rs. 49 lakh.

‘The gang allegedly created a fake government portal named Swasthya Avum Jan Kalyan Sanstha (SAJKS), claiming to be an initiative under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and advertised 13,000 job vacancies in August,’ according to police.“The website looked so genuine that some media organisations and jobs website also reported about the vacancies. This attracted more people,” Anyesh Roy, DCP (Cyber Cell).

Police identified the alleged mastermind as Ramdhari Singh (50), who worked alone with web designer Sandeep (32) and software engineer Joginder Singh (35) to create a website advertising over 13,000job vacancies for accountants, clerks, lab attendants, ambulance drivers, data entry operators and cab drivers. Ramdari runs an online exam centre in Mundka and had access to data of more than 15 lakh job aspirants. “He conducted entrance tests for several government institutes at his centre and had personal details of each candidate in a database. He used this to target them,” said an officer.

Police arrested Surender Singh(50), Joginder and Ramdhari from Delhi and Hisar. The bank account and phone numbers given on the website were issued in Surender’s name.
