Ghazipur border sealed, traffic on highway will also remain closed

People may now have to struggle with daily traffic jams on Ghazipur Border

The Delhi Police is keeping a strong watch on the farmers' agitation on the borders of Delhi. The strictness of the police has increased so much that now even the common people are not allowed to cross the border of Delhi to the farmers' dharnas for coverage.

On Sunday, police security was tightened at the Singhu and Tikri borders. The Ghazipur border was completely sealed. Now NH-24, NH-9 and Ghazipur Road, no one is allowed to go beyond Ghaziabad towards Anand Vihar. Along with closing down the road,  the flyover above has also been completely closed by the police. In such a situation, people moving between Delhi and Ghaziabad from Monday may face heavy problems. There is a possibility of heavy jams in the vicinity due to traffic diversion.

According to information received from the police sources, the police was cautioned of sit-in demonstration of farmers in Delhi since the violence during Kisan Rally on Republic Day. The bombing of the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi on Friday during the Beating Retreat Ceremony has further heightened the possibility of terrorist attacks. In view of this, the Delhi Police has now completely blocked the way of movement of farmers from Delhi borders towards the dharna site. No one is allowed to go to the border through Delhi except to those associated with the police and other emergency services. Near the Ghazipur border, the police completed the path from the flyover in front of Road No. 57-A to the border, up and down the flyover, on both sides by triple layer barricading a little distance and placing slabs of concrete in between. Has been blocked. On Sunday, barbed wire was also spread all over the barricades.
