The police contacted the girl’s mother, Geeta who said the accused had been following her daughter for two years. “I am a widow and I work as a domestic help in the area. Shivam has been stalking my daughter for the past two years.

Briefly, she befriended him but when she came to know about the mischiefs he was involved in, she distanced herself from him. We first requested him to be away from my daughter, but when our requests fell on deaf ears, we filed a complaint against Shivam on May 28 at the Tilak Vihar police post.

However, the police just took an undertaking from Shivam on a blank paper and let him go,” the mother said.

The girl is in a critical situation as per the doctors. The wounds on her chest and stomach are deep.
