Global Buddhist Conference will be inaugurated by Narendra Modi

On Thursday, a two days global conference in New Delhi will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for Buddhist monks, diplomats, and scholars from over 30 countries.

Buddhism is born in India, and India is the land of Buddha. So, it is our duty to represent our Buddhist history and heritage to the world... With that vision of the country and the current government the conference is in line," Union culture minister G Kishan said, on Monday. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the conference.”

Reddy said the Union culture ministry and the International Buddhist Confederation are organizing the conference. He said the conference is significant from a cultural perspective and will also promote closer diplomatic ties.

Prominent Buddhist monks will visit the country and also attend a conference for the first time, he said. The discussion will be held on how Buddhist philosophy and thoughts will help to deal with contemporary challenges.
