Goa to provide free water supply upto 16k litres per month to homes from today

On Tuesday the CM launched the "save water to get free water" scheme under which the household will not be charged for water consumption up to 16k litres.


Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced that Goa will become the first state in the country to supply free water to its citizens starting from Wednesday, September 1. 

Addressing the press conference in Panaji, Chief Minister said, "Goa will be the first state in the country to give water free to people. We are not giving this water to waste, we want to save water to get free water."

On Tuesday, the CM launched the "save water to get free water" scheme under which the households will not be charged for water consumption up to 16k litres.

According to the statement the chief minister said, "From September 1, we are reducing water bills. 16,000 litres of water will be given free of cost. From 1 September, 60 per cent of the households will get zero bills. Those living in the flats will be able to utilize the scheme." Whereas the CM also talked about small restaurants," small business and restaurants will not have to pay industrial bills anymore. We are moving it to the commercial bill slab, they will be able to save money in a big way. One time settlement (OTS) has been extended by two months to facilitate payment of pending bills. "said the Minister.
