Over 40,000 Users Affected


On Monday, Alphabet Inc's Google was down for thousands of users . According to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.


There were more than 40,000 incidents of people reporting issues with the world's largest search engine, according to Downdetector, which tracks outages by collating status reports from a number of sources including user-submitted errors on its platform.


Google did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.


Google has not yet issued a statement on this. The most common causes of such failures are back-end web infrastructure, such as those experienced by Fastly and Amazon Web Services last year, according to the Bloomberg report.


As per the information Problems loading the Google website and performing searches were also observed in Taiwan and Japan, however, the services appeared to be intermittently available, reported Bloomberg.


Google's search section was said to have reflected a ‘500 error’. “The server encountered an error and could not complete your request," was the message that showed up.

Earlier, in July, thousands of users of Instagram on Thursday reported issues with the photo-sharing application. Nearly 24,000 users of Instagram were impacted by 5 pm ET, according to outage-tracking website Downdetector, which collates status reports from a number of sources in the United States.


"We're aware that some people are having trouble accessing Instagram. We're working to get things back to normal and apologize for any inconvenience," a Meta spokesperson said in an emailed statement to Reuters.
