Government extended date for linking Aadhaar and Pan card till 30 June...

If taxpayer fails to do so then his/her PAN card will become inappropriate....


The central government has announced to extend the last date for linking Permanent Account Number (PAN) with Aadhaar card. 

 

As per the release by Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the date has been extended till 30 June, 2023. It has said that notification regarding this being issued separately.

 

Earlier, the last date to link PAN with Aadhaar card was March 31, 2023. According to the income tax department.

 

To help curb tax evasion linking PAN with Aadhaar card is important. If a taxpayer fails to link his/her both documents, then their PAN card will become inappropriate. The taxpayer will not be capable to furnish, intimate or quote his PAN in such cases.

 

Within 30 days a taxpayer can make his/her PAN card operative again after payment of late fees of Rs 1,000.
