Group Captain Varun Singh Passes Away

Injured in Chopper Crash


Group captain Varun Singh, who was rescued after the hospital crash that killed Chief Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, His wife, and 11 others passed away today.



As per the information, the group captain was under treatment for severe burns at a Bangaluru military hospital and was shifted from Wellington in Tamil Nadu's Coonoor.



As per the statement given by Air Force, it said, "The IAF is deeply saddened to inform the passing away of braveheart Group Captain Varun Singh, who succumbed this morning to the injuries sustained in the helicopter accident on December 8. IAF offers sincere condolences and stands firmly with the bereaved family."



According to the post, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Group Captain Varun Singh served the nation with pride, valor, and utmost professionalism. I am extremely anguished by his passing away. His rich service to the Nation will never be forgotten, Condolences to his family and friends; Om Shanti."
