A crocodile mauled a Gujarati man to death, forest dept found body…

The Gujarat Forest department found the body of a 30-year-old victim of a crocodile attack. The video of the man getting attacked by the crocodile surfaced online on Sunday and the Gujarat Forest department immediately rushed to recover the body. The accident had taken place in the Dhadhar river near Sokhdaraghu village of Padra Taluka in Vadodara.

After the videos of the deceased man being pulled into the river by the crocodile surfaced on the internet, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) immediately showed up at the scene and began a search operation. A forest official reported that the man’s body was recovered from the river around 11 pm last night.

Deputy conservator of forests (DCF) of Vadodara, Ravirajsinh Rathod spoke on the matter, “The deceased has been identified as Diwan Imranbhai Allisha. The cause of the death can only be ascertained after the post mortem is done.

The shoulders of the deceased were torn away by the crocodile when we recovered the body. Some people who were at the lake are of the view that the deceased may have slipped and drowned before being attacked by the crocodile”.

He added that, "The man's body bore bite marks on the shoulders. We are trying to find out how the victim ended up in the river, as locals witnessed the attack only after he was already inside the water".

Mr. Rathod informed that the "Forest officials were alerted, following which a search operation was launched with the help of the local administration. The victim's body was recovered around 10 pm”.

The deceased victim was identified as Imran Diwan, a resident of Sokhdaraghu village, as per the police officials.
