Four patients admitted with the H3N2 virus


In Maharashtra, the H3N2 influenza virus is spreading rapidly. On 15 March 2024, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation updated that 32 patients were admitted in Mumbai, out of whom 4 patients were reported with H3N2 virus and the other 28 were diagnosed with H1N1. As per the hospital and BMC information, all the patients are in stable condition.

 

The official statement stated that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis will schedule a state meeting today regarding the H3N2 virus.

 

Following the update, the state minister Tanaji Sawant informed that nearly 352 patients had been diagnosed with H3N2 so far, and nearly two had died from the suspected virus in Nagpur.

 

This virus is an acute respiratory tract infection caused by A, B, C, and D types of influenzas that belong to the orthomyxoviridae family, of which the A type is the most common in humans, especially in the months of January to the end of March.

 

The symptoms of the virus are fever, vomiting, diarrhea, body aches, nausea, and respiratory tract symptoms such as a running nose, cough, and cold.
