Dusshera - A celebration of good over evil.

Dussehra gets its name from the Sanskrit words "Dasha" and "Hara," which means "removing ten" (talking about Ravana's ten heads). It celebrates Lord Rama's big win over the demon king Ravana, a story from the old Indian epic, the Ramayana.

Many people know and love the story of Rama's journey to save his dear wife, Sita, from Ravana. Dussehra stands for the complete victory of what's right, true, and good over evil and what's not right.

Dussehra is not only about Rama's victory but also the end of a nine-day festival called Navaratri. During Navaratri, people worship the Goddess Durga in different forms for nine days. Each day is devoted to a special manifestation of the divine feminine. Dussehra is the grand finale of this time of devotion. It's a day for celebrating, eating good food, and sharing happy wishes.
