Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced an increase in the salaries of sanitation workers both in rural and urban areas in the state. As the monthly salary of sanitation workers in rural areas will go up from 12,500 to 14,000 rupees per month and for those in urban areas from 15,000 to 16,000 rupees.

On Sunday at Safai Mitra Utthan Sammelan in Karnal, he addressed that, the amount of 500 will be given as additional compensation if there will be any delays in the salary deposit. In addition, new technology will be also introduced in Rewari and Gurgaon, considering sewage cleaning.

An Initiative towards the safety of sanitation workers which he promised an insurance compensation of Rs 10 lakh which will be provided to workers’ families who are engaged in sanitation. Even, a benefit of 5 lakh will be provided under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Suraksha Yojana whereas 2 lakh will be provided in case of natural death of any worker.

Moreover, Workers with an annual income of up to Rs 1.80 lakh can take a guaranteed free loan for the education of their children and if in any term the worker is not able to pay such loan, then it will be compensated by the state government.
