Haryana: In a 3rd incidence in state, 5 Covid patients die allegedly due to oxygen shortage

Five Covid positive patients died on Monday morning in Hisar district of Haryana after which the families of the deceased protested at the hospital.

Three incidents occurred in Haryana, where patients who were being treated for Covid, allegedly died due to shortage of oxygen in the last 24 hours. Five Covid positive patients died on Monday morning in Hisar district of Haryana after which the families of the deceased protested at the hospital. The families alleged that the shortage of medical oxygen led to the deaths.

Earlier, on Sunday, four patients died at a private hospital in Rewari allegedly due to shortage of oxygen while four others died at a private hospital in Gurugram. The district administration has ordered a probe in the cases. The hospital authority in Gurugram denied the allegations and said the patients died as they were critically ill.

The authorities said although they were facing a crunch in oxygen supplies, those patients died because their oxygen saturation levels had dropped sharply. The authorities claimed they had not run out of oxygen supply. Police official Rajbir Singh said in reference to the Hisar incident, the health department took away the bodies of the deceased according to the Covid protocol.
