Haryana women to lead tractor rally against farm laws

BKU is training Haryana women to lead the protests.

After the seventh round of talks failed to break the deadlock, farmers are ready to intensify protests over the contentious agricultural laws. Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU), a key body representing the protesters, is training more than 500 women of Haryana to lead the tractor rally during the 'Kisaan Parade' that is to take place on Republic Day. Visuals of Haryana's Jind women can be seen driving tractors while other women are shouting slogans.

They are planning to take out a rally on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway in Haryana on Wednesday, according to a farmer leader. " This is just a trailer. Full movie can be seen on the KMP highway tomorrow," he said.

Last week, 40 representatives of the farmers had said that if the central government does not repeal the three laws, then they would carry forward the protests and intensify them. They had also said that they chose Republic Day for the 'Kisaan Parade' as it "represents the supremacy of the people of India" and will mark the completion of two- month long protests.
