Kriti Sanon, the much-awaited Meena Kumari biopic will mark the directorial debut of Bollywood's ace fashion designer, Manish Malhotra

Kriti Sanon has cemented herself as one of the prominent and influential actors in Bollywood industry. The queen, who made her acting skills in the year 2014 with the movie Heropanti alongside Tiger Shroff, has come a long way in show all by her talent and work.

The diva who has amazed audiences with her impressive and attractive  acting chops in film like Bareilly Ki Barfi, Luka Chuppi, and Mimi to name a few, is all set to play the most fancy and celebrated icon of the Hindi film industry on the big screen, the famous Meena Kumari.

The most-awaited movie  based on the life of Bollywood’s ‘Tragedy Queen’ will mark Kriti’s first-ever biopic,but the biopic will also see ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra making his debut as a director. The onus of playing such an character with justice vastly lies on Kriti’s shoulders, who has kick-started her prep for the project.

As per the sources close to Mid-Day, in a bid to learn Kumari’s mannerisms and study her on-screen persona, Kriti is watching some of the most celebrated and classic movies of the Meena.
