Punjab And Center Receives HC Notice On Jio Towers Vandalism.

A plea was filed by Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. in the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday regarding the damages caused to over 1500 Reliance Jio’s mobile tower during the ongoing farmers’ agitation. The court today sent a notice to the government of Punjab and Center over the same.

Justice Sudhir Mittal issued a notice of motion for February 8 according to the counsel of Jio, Aashish Mittal. Jio has also asked for directions in response to the investigation into the “well-orchestrated and sustained disinformation campaign” that was being carried by the vested interest and the miscreants against it in a civil writ petition.

The petitioner said that multiple numbers of Reliance Jio centers and stores were closed by miscreants forcibly by using illegal force and intimidation. Many subscribers of Jio were also forced to port out to other networks while its employees were being subjected to grave threat to life and forcibly prevented to service the subscribers present in the state.

Reliance Company has also requested for a competent authority in the Punjab Prevention of Damage to Public and Private Property Act to assess the losses that were caused to it. In a statement issued by the company it clearly states that “it has nothing whatsoever to do with the three farm laws currently debated in the country, and in no way benefits from them.”
