Hospital Declaring fever as dengue in UP

Multiple hospitals and clinics sealed…

On Wednesday, 01 November 2023, Multiple hospitals and clinics in UP's Bijnor were sealed by the health department for doing fraud with patients.

The health department started the campaign to seal such health facilities after it learned that they were treating people with fever as dengue patients.

The patients admitted to such health facilities were transferred to government hospitals.

Health department officials also appealed to patients not to fall prey to such doctors and to go to government hospitals where they would be treated as per their symptoms.

The campaign was launched on the orders of the district magistrate after it was learned that patients were being harassed by health professionals who were treating them for dengue even when they just had a fever.

Health facilities in the Dhampur and Seohara areas were raided and it was found that around five to six of them were administering false treatments.

Further, they did not have an adequate way to treat dengue patients.

A complaint was filed against such facilities and hospitals, and the patients were shifted to government hospitals.
