On Thursday a 12 hour hunger strike was organised by the Aam Aadmi Party's teacher wing (AADTA) to protest against the Delhi University administration in 28 Delhi Government college and the politicizations of recruitment of teachers and principals in Delhi University for the deliberate delay in the formation of government Bodies (GBs).

The strike was attended by the DU Executive committee (EC) member, Academic Council (AC), Finance committee, DUTA Executive members, former DUTA and FEDCUTA presidents along with other office bearers and large number of teachers.

The decision has been supported by the former deputy chief minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia.

The national in charge of AADTA, Dr. Aditya Narayan Mishra informed that nearly 12,000 teachers in DU where 6,000 are ad-hoc and temporary teachers.

The university administration is indulging in massive displacements that led in displacement of approximately 70 - 75 per cent of teachers and they will not allow the agenda of politicizations of GB formation and recruitment to succeed in DU.
