Her father thrashed her for playing ‘too long’…
A three-year-old girl is battling life as she is in a coma at a hospital in Hyderabad. The little girl was brutally thrashed by her own father, the police informed. The police also added that the incident had taken place on Monday.
The girl’s father identified as Basith Khan has been lodged under charges of attempted murder by the Saifabad police station. The mother of the girl Sana Fatima filed the complaint and gave details of the accident for the lodged FIR, as per the police officials.
K Sattaiah, SHO of the Saifabad police station told the Indian Express that, “The girl is in a coma and admitted to Osmania hospital after the father threw her on the floor. We have taken him into custody,”. The SHO K Sattaiah also added, “The man has been disturbed due to the family’s economic condition and frustrated in general at home”.
The mother of the victim Sana Fathima is even 8 months pregnant and the little girl in a coma, Sakina is third among their four daughters. The incident had on Sunday evening at the family’s place in AC Guards in Saifabad.
The crime came to light when the mother, Fathima lodged a complaint in the Saifabad police station. She said that Basith had been annoyed with Sakina for staying in the restroom for too long and playing with the water.
When she refused to pay any heed to her father, agitated and frustrated Basith went inside the washroom with a ladle and started hitting her, the police narrated the incident.
A case has been lodged against him under section 307 (attempted murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and also invoked sections under section 75 of the juvenile justice act.
