The IMD has predicted a cyclone storm in the next 12 hours in south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued a yellow alert for a cyclone in north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha. According to a forecast bulletin, the presently developing low-pressure system is likely to intensify into a deep depression over north and adjacent central Bay of Bengal.
The IMD predicted that the deep depression is likely to intensify into a cyclone storm in the next 12 hours and will cross south Odisha north Andhra Pradesh coasts around Kalingapatnam by September 26 evening.
The IMD further issued a yellow alert for cyclones in both regions. The IMD had also predicted depression over east-central & adjoining northeast Bay of Bengal and had tweeted regarding it on Friday night. It had issued a pre-cyclone watch for north Andhra Pradesh and adjoining south Odisha coasts.
