IMD issues yellow alert in Delhi, predicts heavy rain till 5 September

The Met Department said that the rainfall activity is likely to increase with scattered to widespread rainfall from September 6 over northwest India.


The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow alert in the national capital for Saturday. Delhi is witnessing heavy rains which has led to disturbance in traffic. Waterlogging has become a major issue in the capital city.

The IMD has also predicted scattered to fairly widespread rainfall activity with heavy rainfall in isolated areas of Punjab, Haryana, Northwest Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh for this weekend. Whereas talking about Mumbai, on Saturday morning the city witnessed rainfall in different parts. Whereas IMD said, Mumbai will experience a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain today. It has been raining since last night in the economical capital of the country.

Meanwhile, owing to heavy rainfall in the national capital, vehicles were seen floating in water which led to commuting problems. Satyendar Jain has also directed the officials to beautify lakes and drainage systems for the betterment of the capital city.
