IMD predicts Delhi's temperature to dip at 4°C

Minimum temperature to touch 3.2°C


On Monday, The National capital Delhi witnessed severe cold waves and a foggy environment in the city. 

 

According to the official, it said the temperature dropped to 3.2°C, five notches below normal and the lowest this season so far. 


According to the India meteorological department (IMD) said, back-to-back western disturbances and the resultant slowing down of cold north-westerly winds from Tuesday night will push the minimum temperature. IMD has also predicted severe cold wave conditions in parts of northwest India till December 21. A bone-chilling severe cold wave swept parts of Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh on Sunday with Churu in Rajasthan reported at a minimum of 2.6 degrees Celsius in northwest India followed by Sikar and Amritsar (minus 0.5 degrees Celsius).


As per the information, the automatic weather station at Jaffarpur village in West Delhi recorded a low of 2.9°C, six notches below the normal, Lodhi road weather station reported a minimum of 3.1°C.


According to the weather department, it said: "a temperature of 4.4°C was recorded at 5:30 am in the National Capital."

 


ANI, said "the weather department predicted cold wave conditions with a drop in mercury level in Kanpur today as well. The minimum and the maximum temperature are expected to be around 5°C and 18 degrees Celsius, respectively.
