IMD predicts heavy rainfall with thunderstorms for Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu is witnessing heavy rainfall since last week


On Wednesday, the India meteorological department predicted heavy rainfall with thunderstorms for Tamil Nadu and its coastal areas. Also, an orange alert has been issued for Chennai and its neighboring districts for Thursday and Saturday.


According to IANS statement, an entrepreneur said," earlier rains were welcome,chennaites love it to the full and people used to dance in the oon during rains. However, how each report is making life difficult for us. Our systems are creating havoc, not weather gods. We have to clear canals, drainage and increase the drainage system in Carter to heavy rains. It is not acceptable that one heavy rain leads to inundation. This has to change our rulers have to be more considerate towards the public as infrastructure is creating issue and water has to be promptly dropped out."


The southern part of India is completely flooded with heavy rain. Day after another India meteorological department (IMD) is issuing alerts for heavy rainfall. Chennai is under orange alert from November 25 till November 27.

India meteorological department (IMD) on Tuesday in its bulletin said that a low-pressure area is likely to form over the southwest Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours.
