IMD Predicts Respite In Weather For Next 3-4 Days

The capital city reels under several heatwave-like scenarios. Extreme scorching heat is creating a difficult situation for travellers and commuters to move from one destination to another. 

 

Also, Delhi experiences a slight respite on Sunday. The maximum temperature dropped by three notches, standing at 40.5 degrees Celsius.

 

As per the predictions by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the respite in a heatwave is likely to continue in Delhi and adjoining areas for the next 3-4 days.

 

The minimum temperature stood at 25.8 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average on Sunday.

 

The air quality in the national capital stood in the 'poor' category on Sunday. The Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 256 against 270 a day earlier.

 

According to the weather department, light rainfall and thunderstorms are also expected in the national capital in the next few days.

 

Not only national capital, several nearby. By cities and the National capital region (NCR) are experiencing heat wave and hot burning like situation this year.

 

Whereas Parts of Bengaluru witnessed hailstorms and thundershowers on Sunday, bringing respite from the scorching heat.

 

The mercury dipped and the city recorded a rainfall of 11.2mm on May 1. Areas such as Frazer Town, BTM, Shivajinagar, Vijaynagar and Hosahalli received heavy rain and there were reports of trees uprooting in the BTM and nearby areas.
