IMD Predicts thunderstorm with moderate intensity rain in Delhi and parts of UP


The Indian Meteorological Department on Thursday predicted thunderstorms with light to moderate rains in Delhi and some parts of Uttar Pradesh. According to the Met Department, the Safdarjung weather station which is considered the official weather marker for the city revealed that the minimum temperature is likely to be 28 degree Celsius.

According to the tweet by (IMD) Indian Meteorological Department, it said that "Thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity brain would occur over isolated places of northeast Delhi, Indirapuram, pilkhua,chaprula, Dadri, Khurja, Khair, jattari (Uttar Pradesh) and adjoining areas during the next two hours adding that it also said that thunderstorm with moderate to heavy intensity rain would occur over Modinagar, Pilkhuwa, Hapur, khurja, jattari, khekra  Baghpat (UP) and adjoining areas in the next two hours, said in another tweet.

Amid the speculations of monsoon arriving in the National Capital soon, the Air Quality of the city remained in the moderate category on Thursday morning. According to the data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the hourly Air Quality Index (AQI) at 7:00 am stood at 182 in the city which is the higher end of the moderate category.
