Imran Khan Gets 14 Years in Toshakhana Case

Bushra Bibi, Ex-PM's Wife, Also Gets 14 Years in Same Case

Imran Khan, the ex-Prime Minister of Pakistan, along with his wife Bushra Bibi, has received a 14-year prison sentence in the Toshakhana (state gifts) case, as per Dawn reports.

A day after Imran Khan was handed a 10-year prison sentence for disclosing sensitive state secrets, this adds another blow to his electoral aspirations for the upcoming February 8 general elections.

Accountability Court Judge Mohammad Bashir presided over the hearing at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, where the former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, is presently held. Both Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, were sentenced to 14 years in prison, accompanied by a substantial fine, and a 10-year ban on holding public office.

Notably, Bushra Bibi was absent from the court proceedings.
