In Puducherry, CM Narayanasamy resigns and the party walks out.

After losing confidence, CM Narayanasamy has resigned and congress has lost its major country.

Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy and his cabinet colleagues in the Union Territory have resigned. The government, led by Narayanasamy, has lost the confidence vote it sought when it faced a power struggle in 11 against 14 opponents in the 33-member Council.

After being suspended from Parliament before a motion was tabled in the House, Narayanasamy approached Raj Nivas and submitted his resignation to Lt Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan. UV Narayanasamy said the ruling party withdrew after Speaker V Sivakolunthu did not accept his argument that only elected members have the right to vote during a trust vote, apparently referring to the three BJP members nominated.

"Our view that only elected members can vote in the House was not accepted by the Speaker. So we left the meeting and met with the Lt Governor and submitted a letter of resignation to my cabinet," Narayanasamy said. Narayanasamy said his ministers, members of Congress and MPKs apart from the independent legislature that had previously supported the government, accompanied him. It was up to Lt Governor to decide on their resignation, Narayanasamy said.

On Thursday the governor ordered the writing of the exams after the opposition party, which had 14 members, fielded him, saying the government had been reduced to a minority and that he should show his power in Parliament. The day before, two other ministers of the Congress-DMK coalition in Puducherry have resigned, bringing another item to Narayanasamy.

On Sunday, Congressman K Lakshminarayanan and DMK's Venkatesan left Parliament, and a former government spokesman said he had lost a majority in the resignation resolution when the Dragidian party legislature ignored allegations of a lack of funding to meet people's needs.
