India Conveyed ‘Deep Concerns’ At Myanmar’s Military Coup


India’s Ministry of External Affairs on Monday said that it was deeply concerned about the military coup in taking place in Myanmar and in a statement issued by the ministry it stated that “We have noted the developments in Myanmar with deep concern.” It added further “We believe in the rule of law in the democratic process must be upheld. We are monitoring the situation closely.”

Today the Myanmar military seized power in a coup against the democratically elected government to the Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi was detained along with other leaders of the National League of Democracy (NLD) party in the early morning raids.
