India pays tribute to former PM Rajiv Gandhi on his 77th birth anniversary

Every year Rajiv Gandhi's birth anniversary was celebrated as Sadbhavna Divas.


Former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi today marks his 77th birth anniversary. Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi, including other several leaders, went to the memorial, Veer Bhumi in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and M Venakaiah Naidu also paid tributes. Rahul Gandhi also shared a post on Facebook in remembering his father, which says, India is a secular India alone that can survive. Remembering Shri Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary. Rajiv Gandhi was born in 1944, who also became prime minister of India in 1984 after the death of Indira Gandhi In 1968, Rajiv Gandhi got married to Sonia Gandhi, who is currently the president of the Congress party. Rajiv Gandhi served the nation till December 2, 1989. Every year Rajiv Gandhi's birth anniversary was celebrated as Sadbhavna Divas. 

Rajiv Gandhi also received the Bharat Ratna award as he was the sixth prime minister of the country. He exemplifies the area of politics, economy, and morality in public life, through consent and conciliation, participation, and persuasion. He was also a trained pilot and worked for state-owned Indian Airlines for short time, he also worked hard to put an end to perturbation and violations in Punjab, Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Kashmir to reinstate peace and democracy.A suicide bomber of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) killed him during an election rally in Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu in 1991.
