India Projected to Become World's Most Populated Country...

With more than 1.4 million people...


India has projected to become world's most populated country within two months with more than 1.4 million people. However a whole year country is unable to count, due to which country has no data of how many people it has.

 

 

According to experts delay in accuracy ratio of employment, literacy, migration, housing and infant mortality, counted by census, will affects economic and social growth and policymaking.

 

 

Saying census data "indispensable" Rachna Sharma, at national institute of public finance and policy, stated 

Studies like the consumption expenditure survey and the periodic labour force survey are estimations based on information from the census.

 

 

"Due to the delayed in updating census data, the estimations are based on data which is a decade old and far from today's reality," Sharma added.

 

 

Two other government officials, one from the federal home ministry and another from the office of the Registrar General of India, said the 

Government’s decision to fine-tune the census process and make it foolproof with the help of advance technology is the reason of delaying 

 

The home ministry official says that the software which is responsible to collect census data on a mobile phone app has to be synchronized with its existing identity database, along with the national identity card, known as Aadhaar Card, which was taking time and result in updating the data.

 

However the office of the Registrar General of India, did not respond to request for comment. Which is responsible for census.
