According to Modi India’s Natural Gas Pipeline to Double In Six Year


The inauguration of the 450 Km Kochi-Mangalore natural gas pipelines was done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. The pipeline is built at a cost of 3,000 crore rupees. Pm Modi while addressing the event said, the gas-based economy is crucial for Atmanirbhar Bharat and work is being done in the direction of ‘One Nation, One Gas Grid.’ “Natural gas pipeline to be doubled in 5-6 years; CNG stations to be raised to 10,000 from the current 1,500,” said PM Modi at the event.

The dignitaries present at the event today were the Chief Ministers and Governors of Karnataka and Kerala along with the Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan. GAIL (India) Ltd. has built the 450 Km long pipeline. The pipeline will be carrying natural gas from the Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Regasification Terminal at Kochi in Kerala to Mangalore while passing through the districts of Ernakulam, Thrissur, Pallakad, Mallapuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod.

The newly launched pipeline will be supplying environmental friendly and affordable fuel in the form of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to households and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to the sectors of transportation.
