Indian Railways to run 179 Special Trains

For Upcoming Festivals Diwali Chhath puja


Ahead of the upcoming festivals of Diwali, Chhath puja and upcoming Christmas The Indian Railway has announced that it will run 179 pairs of special trains to clear the rush during the festival. The national transporter has said that it will run 2269 trips of 179 special trains till Chhath Puja. 


As per the information, the special trains will connect major destinations across the country on routes like Delhi- Patna, Delhi- Bhagalpur, Delhi-Muzaffarpur, Delhi-Saharsa and others.


According to the statement, the Indian railways said; “Additional RPF personnel have been deployed at major stations to ensure security of passengers. Officers are deployed on Emergency Duty at major stations to ensure smooth running of trains. Staff are deployed in various sections to attend any disruption of train service on priority,” according to a press release issued by Indian Railways on Thursday.


The Ministry of Railways also took to Twitter to announce the move and wrote, "Easing festive travel for passengers! To ensure convenience of the travellers and clear extra rush, Railways is running 2,269 trips of 179 special trains (in pairs) till Chhath Puja. Special trains have been planned to connect major destinations across the country. (Sic)


This is not the first time when Indian Railways has announced to run special trains to Bihar ahead of the festival. The national transporter every year runs special trains to clear the rush ahead of festivals like Holi, Diwali and Chhath Puja.


The 2022 festive season that started with Ganesh Chaturthi on August 31, continuing with Navratri and Durga Puja will conclude with Chhath Puja, which is scheduled on October 30.
