Indonesia to impose emergency measures as COVID-19 cases spike

Indonesia’s president, Joko Widodo, announced on Thursday the part of Java and Bali island. for these two major islands as the delta variant spreads, schools ,shopping malls, sports facilities, and mosques will be closed . Lockdown will start from Saturday till 20 July whereas on 19 July in Indonesia, the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha, was celebrated, by a large number of people follow up by gathering where they sacrifice cows and goats.In the statement addressing the nation, Mr.Joko said, As the people are aware of the changing demonstration of the coronavirus growing up rapidly by day by day especially because of the new delta variant which has become a serious problem in many countries, in this for the safety of the people, let’s come together in resolute steps so that in this tough times we can control the coronavirus. The number of coronavirus in Indonesia is getting higher, as on Thursday 24,836 records, in which 504 deaths took place.

As the delta virus was firstly discovered in India and now which is driving in a surge in many parts of the countries now, In Indonesia the health expert has been addressed that, the variant has risen the hike in several cases there, which overwhelm cases in hospital and cemeteries, especially talking about for the capital, Jakarta. The measure of full lockdown was urged by the health expert only, In lockdown all the worship places  will be closed,  workers in nonessential jobs will be working from home, restaurants can provide only takeout food, local transit will operate with reduced capacity and public parks will be closed. Weddings with up to 30 attendees will still be allowed. The measures will apply to nearly all of Java, which includes Jakarta and has a population of about 140 million, especially for a popular part in Bali, which is a tourist popular place hoping to reopen for the foreigners.
