Sriwijaya Air went down with 62 people onboard and submerged into the Java Sea at high velocity. The rescue operations by Indonesia so far have recovered body parts of some who were on the flight that took off from Jakarta and also the debris from the flight have been found. The rescue personnel team of 2500 members have been searching since Sunday with more than 20 helicopters, 100 navy ships and boats. They found parts of the plane in the waters at 25 meters deep and further leading the rescuers majorly to keep searching the area. On Monday the search would be widened by the authorities as the search operation team will explore wide areas as the debris which might have been carried by the current under the sea along the coast might be found. The chances of survival of the people on board are failing with every passing hour but divers still continue to look for survivors and body parts.

The Boeing Jet 737-500 minutes after taking off from Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital disappeared during heavy rainfall as the flight plunged into the Java Sea with high velocity as it lost its altitude quickly.
