Indore Couple Kills Hotel Owner and Girlfriend

Police Probe Extra-Marital Affair Connection

In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, a woman and her husband were arrested on Sunday for allegedly killing a hotelier and his girlfriend. The motive behind the murders, as per the police, was a forced extra-marital affair. Mamta (32) and Nitin Pawar (35), the accused couple, were taken into custody following the incident that occurred within the limits of Aerodrome police station on Saturday, according to additional deputy commissioner of police Alok Kumar Sharma.

Ravi Thakur (42), a hotelier, and his girlfriend Sarita Thakur (38) were reportedly attacked and killed with sharp-edged weapons at her residence. The bodies were discovered in a state of undress, according to the authorities.

Mamta was introduced to the hotelier, Ravi Thakur, by Sarita, and they developed a friendship that eventually evolved into an illicit relationship, according to the official statement.

Upon learning about the affair, Nitin and Mamta reportedly quarreled. It is claimed that Thakur, the hotelier, allegedly compelled Mamta to sustain their relationship by using an objectionable video involving her, as mentioned by the official statement.

Mamta summoned Thakur to Sarita's residence, where she and her husband allegedly killed Sarita first. Later, upon Thakur's arrival, they attacked the hotelier, according to the official statement.

A sword and knife, believed to have been used in the killings, have been recovered. A thorough investigation is currently underway, stated the official.
