Boyfriend Nabbed After CCTV Identifies Him

A woman software engineer from Infosys was shot and killed near Pune on Saturday night. Her boyfriend has been arrested for the alleged murder, and the police found a gun with him.

The incident occurred at an Oyo hotel in the Hinjewari area of Pimpri Chinchwad. Upon receiving information about a shooting, the police arrived at the hotel and discovered the woman's body on the floor, with blood stains found in the room.

Police have identified the woman as Vandana Dwivedi and her boyfriend as Rishabh Nigam, both hailing from Uttar Pradesh. The ongoing investigation suggests that the couple, who were in a relationship, had a dispute that escalated to the point of murder. The accused, Rishabh Nigam, is currently being questioned for further details regarding this tragic incident.

Rishabh Nigam came to the attention of the police when CCTV footage from the hotel revealed him leaving the room late at night. Subsequently, the police initiated vehicle checks at checkpoints and successfully apprehended him.

"The hotel room booking was made under the names Vandana and Rishabh. Therefore, he is our primary suspect. The investigation is ongoing," stated senior police officer Vishal Hire to the media.
