The narcotics control bureau (NCB) Chandigarh arrested one man from Ludhiana, Punjab on Friday who had been leading the international drug group and seized nearly 53 liquor sales and 13 sub vends for his properties.

Following the case, the IPS Gyaneshwar Singh mentioned that the accused shared the vends in 3 liquor groups of Ludhiana named as Fortis Group, Dholewal Group, and Gill Chowk Group in the tax revenue of 2022-2023. He further mentioned that they had recovered 34.466 kgs of heroin, 5.470 kgs of morphine, 557 grams of opium, and 23.645 kgs of suspect narcotic powder, and 16 persons arrested along with Akshay Chabra who is identified as the leader of the group by the NCB of Chandigarh Zonal Unit on 20 January 2023.

As per the information shared by IPS Singh that the case came to light during the investigation when Akshay Chabra raised Drugs money in liquor vends in Ludhiana.

The official statement shared that the Drug money got invested in stocks, security, and licenses of the liquor vends were also seized.
