International Yoga Day 2022: Free Entry At Taj Mahal For All Tourists On This Occasion

Free entry tickets for tourists at all ASI-protected monuments across India!


The International Day of Yoga is being celebrated today in India and across the world. Physical observance of the day is being held at 75 heritage and iconic sites in the country.

On Monday, officials said, The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will not charge any entry fee at the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and other monuments on the occasion of International Day of Yoga on June 21.

Superintending Archaeologist of ASI (Agra Circle) Rajkumar Patel told PTI, "On the occasion of International Yoga Day, there will be free entry tickets for all tourists at Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri and other ASI-protected monuments in Agra Circle and across India also.

The entry will be free for the entire day for all tourists, Indians and foreigners." Meanwhile, Officials said Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi will perform yoga with a large number of people from all sections of the society at 'Panch Mahal' in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur Sikri on the occasion of International Day of Yoga.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading the Yoga Day celebrations from Mysuru today. The idea to celebrate this Yoga Day was first proposed by the Prime Minister in 2014, after achieving power. The first International Day of Yoga was celebrated the next year on June 21. The day is recognized by the United Nations now.
