On Monday, Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has asked the authorities of the National capital's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, New Delhi to introduce more facilities.


 

The photograph of the Indira Gandhi international airport went viral all over social media and other platforms where the public crowd was witnessed along with a long queue was also observed in a photograph. After which a Statement came, to ease the public hassle and introduce more COVID testing facilities at the airport.


The civil aviation minister has asked the authorities to implement appropriate facilities and asked for "better crowd management" at the airport. He asked to introduce a token system to improve the crowd scenario at the airport which will also help passengers to maintain social distancing.


According to the statement, Delhi International airport limited CEO, Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said, "Delhi airport has been making continuous enhancement in infrastructure and processes to manage the New screening norms for passengers arriving from 'at- risk' countries. The number of passengers pre-booking their tests on arrival has been going up every day." Adding more, the CEO said more and more passengers are opting for rapid PCR tests RT -PCR. We have installed 120  testing machines and provided for 20 dedicated counters for passengers who pre-book their tests. The tests are being completed quickly to minimize the waiting time, said the CEO.

 

 

With the advisory of new guidelines and appropriate Covid protocol. The travel has become a bit scheduled. Numerous formalities are taking place during the arrival as well as a departure at the airport due to the threat of the new variant Omicron.
