This year, Israel has become one of the first countries to vaccinate its whole population and the government has removed all restrictions on public events that are being held.

Israel has expanded the booster program of getting vaccinated which will now also include kids above 12 years of age. The decision was declared on Sunday, which is an addition to the booster program, which was started last month in order to vaccinate Israelis over 60. It was expanded in phases over several weeks in which people of the age group of the 50s, 40s, and 30s have participated.

Besides, 20% approximately 9 million people have taken their third dose. In addition, this year, Israel has become one of the first countries to vaccinate its whole population and the government has removed all restrictions on public events that are being held.

Meanwhile, due to the rapid spread of the delta variant, Israel is facing the world's highest rates of infection, even after getting vaccinated and following up universal face mask mandates. According to the experts, the vaccine's effectiveness subdues with time. Due to this reason, the government approved the booster program. Now anyone can get booster shot who was vaccinated over five months ago.

As per previous data, the booster dose is slowing the spread of the delta variant and stopping serious illness among the vaccinated. Prime Minister Naftali Bennett also requested the public to get vaccinated and claimed that the third vaccination works. As per the result, it slows severe morbidity, he added.
