Israel To Send Investigators To Probe Embassy Blasts In Delhi

Team of investigators from Israel to probe Embassy blast

Israel has decided to send a group of investigators to take part in the probe being conducted in the blast that took place outside the Israeli embassy in Delhi on Friday evening, citing a prominent Russian states owned news agency. The prominent sources told the news agency that that decision was taken after India’s National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval spoke to Meir Ben-Shabbat, the Israeli counterpart, while he was updating the situation on the ongoing investigations on the minor blast outside the embassy of Israel.

Iran’s IGRC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) is suspected by Israel's defence establishments behind the blast. A Tel Aviv directive was issued to increase vigilantism at all the Israeli embassies around the world due to fears of attack by Iran.

An envelope with text written on it for an official of the Israel Embassy was recovered from the blast site said the investigators. A senior official of the government told a prominent news agency in India that “The envelope has a text related to the Israel embassy official. It is a case for investing officers to see whether or not it has any link with the case. But, it has been recovered from the blast site.”

India’s External Foreign minister S Jaishankar has assured the Foreign Minister of Israel that their diplomats in India are “under fullest protection.”
