Jagan Mohan Reddy to provide free sanitary napkins to school college girls

Jagan Mohan Reddy will also launch a Swechha programme at his camp office.


The Andhra Pradesh government led by Jagan Mohan Reddy will provide free sanitary napkins to adolescent girls studying in schools as well as colleges. Whereas on Tuesday he will also launch a Swechha programme at his camp office.

As per the official statement,  the state government introduced the programme considering the health and hygiene of women and girls.

Talking about this initiative, around 10 sanitary napkins will be distributed every month to about 10 lakh girls studying in classes 7 to 12. Whereas the state government in partnership with UNICEF, WASH and P&G will be conducting special awareness classes on menstruation as well as health and hygiene.

Women's hygiene and safety related to menstrual hygiene should be noted carefully. There are still several women and girls who are not aware of the various diseases caused if hygiene and menstrual cycle cleanliness are not maintained properly.
